1. Mater

As for the «Mater», here is for you: one cannot exactly pray to her, but rather suggest to her, energize her, shake her up in a word, like the secret fire within, which gives her the forms propelled by the word. (Cf. MR 1238: «It is the responsibility of each one of us to arouse God in oneself with one’s particular faith, be it patient, sweet, bold, wilful, or even violent; but always animated by the fire of love.» See also MR 2941: «These divine Names are written, are spelt, are named and are sung to give forms and to break them up; that is a secret that God only entrusts to the renounced who prefer to die than to kill.»)

Fire is the palpable and subtle light with which the visible and invisible worlds were made; it is the most delicate thing to handle, of course, when one knows it, which is extremely rare.

Thus, many are reduced to conjecture, despite their great intelligence and knowledge, because they have never seen the «Mater».

Perhaps you will see her one day? And perhaps you will have the privilege of communion in her body? It is your simplicity, your purity that will certainly decide. Think of the prodigious number of those who seek her and hope for her: believers, monks, mages, occultists, atomic scientists, philosophers… They may not yet be poor enough to be filled in this way.

Think of this as you awaken and think of it as you fall asleep, for it is the true root of all.
