I ask you to try constantly to compare the teaching of the «Book of the Fathers of Taoism» with that of the «Gospels», and you will discover the metaphysical identity of these astonishing words.
As for what is concealed behind, it will be sufficient for you to read «The Message» in full in order to see it appear. Just one thing: do not think about me when you are reading that volume that speaks only of what others have left unsaid, for you would risk being misled by appearances, and thus prevented from reaching the bottom of the thing itself, of which it is spoken imprudently.
Have you noticed how reading «The Message Rediscovered» made you work like a galley slave That is probably why it is not well received.
253. To whom is «The Message Rediscovered» addressed?
Here, the heat and the fine weather are set in, and I am hardly working and hardly praying, seeing as I am resting. I have even forgotten «The Message Rediscovered», which ten or so of you are reading seriously at present. But how many could receive it in France and in the world? Only the Lord who inspired it knows that. As for me, I ask myself for whom and why I have written such a book at such a time; and I want to forget it so as not to have to give any explanation on the matter… It is to others… that I will send the questioners so that they might reply as they wish, tired as I am of talking to curious people who are dead to word that says something, but wide awake to words that say nothing at all.

I have asked […] wishing to point out […] that «The Message Rediscovered» had been rejected by a theological master and by a hermetic master, which makes it a book without parents, neither fish nor fowl, and that doubts remain permitted about it, and that, since the authorities of this world do not want to recognize it, the reader has no option but to take recourse to the Holy Spirit to find out where it comes from and where it is going!

I’m re-reading it at the moment; it’s a truly hard-wearing and extraordinary book for its prodigious and eloquent degree of concentration.
When I say that, I am of course forgetting that I am the clumsy secretary of the Lord for a short moment. Nobody knows what to think about this book, just as nobody knows what to think about my hermetic paintings, and there are only the new generations to show sufficient curiosity, to the extent of pressing it like Gideon’s fleece into the shell (Cf. Judges 6, 37).
149&150. The inspiration for «The Message Rediscovered»
I have just come out of H.’s lecture, in which he showed the tip of the ear which is the state of revolt against God himself, whom he accuses of having driven man out into the death of the world. I thus pointed out that our revolt should be applied to our lamentable state, and to the cause of our state, which is our own disobedience, and not God, who merely sanctioned justly that disobedience. Those present preferred to agree with him and to applaud the revolt of man against the powers that have exiled him!!! It is the old remain of the Luciferian revolt that is coming out here, just as it is expressed in the frenzied quest of profane atomic scientists and other lunatics who believe, quite stupidly, that they can force open the paradise of God or of Elohim, He the gods, adepts, for pity’s sake!
Thus, all that brilliant, precise, organized, seductive intelligence, all that courage and that detached lucidity, all that tenacity, all that organization, all these gifts are doomed to failure because of a lack of submission to God. It is barely believable and it is like a nightmare… H. wanted to talk to me about «The Message Rediscovered», but I interrupted him, saying that it was an unimportant work, just an essay on mystic and spiritual alchemy that had nothing to do with the precise and traditional science of operative alchemists, and that, moreover, the book did not include any formulas. H. accuses God, it would seem, of maintaining man in an inferior condition out of jealousy and on the basis of an intolerable deception, attributing to our creator and master the characteristics of the rebellious and envious Satan. Might I open his eyes on this matter, which he seems not to understand despite all his intelligence? Aren’t you just astounded at such confusion, my dear friend?
H. proposes to discover God’s secret without asking it of God, all the time talking about God, of whom he knows nothing.
That is really curious, and should make us reflect on the mystery of predestination, which is the fact of choosing nothing but examining everything, and retaining that which is good and worthwhile without preconceived judgements, but above all the fact of being connected to God and of requesting everything of him. My dear friend, you must thank God for the great grace you have received to be able to and to dare to examine everything without prejudice so as to choose that which seems to you respectable and valid.
Think of all those poor people who are the playthings of their petty opinions and preconceived ideas, and finally victims, cut off from God’s salvation. It is enough to make you tremble with fear inside. And that should induce us to reject nothing without prior examination, without close and careful examination! For we do not know where are the true and the false in this mixed world! We touch with our fingers our impotence to save anyone who does not receive from God, and it is a unique lesson of humility and terror that should encourage us to remain closely united in the love of the Lord, which is also love of one’s fellow-being, and he who says fellow-being does not mean someone distant, as I understand it! That should also be clarified and fully understood.
I am tired of fighting against rebels, and I ask the Lord for permission to rest a little alone… I opened my Bible, and look what I read, which you will understand as perfectly as me: «Escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed» and «[…] but he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law».
What do you think about this with regard to those who want to force open the door of God’s dwelling: «And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great : so that they wearied themselves to find the door […]»
If one of them had by some miracle found it, he would never have known how to open it!
Do not seek in books the inspiration for «The Message Rediscovered», for it is not there that I found it. Consider rather that this book continues the revelation of the unique Mystery, and that consequently it is the brother of others, and could not contradict them in this unique and divine core!
204. The readers of «The Message Rediscovered»
You have found a little housemaid who reads «The Message Rediscovered», and me, I have found a little bricklayer who does the same here. There is at least one super-intelligent Catholic militant, but he has not the time, and he accuses us of pharisaism in reverse, which is a great compliment for us after everything the Lord has said about the Pharisees, for if we do the opposite of them, we must be doing what pleases the Lord. We should expect the hostility of the clergy and the right-thinking ones settled in their reassuring and relaxing position, as we propose to them a tiresome awakening and an exhausting quest.
314. The hermeticism of «The Message Rediscovered»
You’ve noticed the different tone of the new verses, a tone that begins in Book XIII, and which becomes more and more intimate with the Lord; however, the hermetic basis remains in spite of everything, for it is all that matters in the end for salvation down here, and I might say that it’s even become remarkably audacious. I cannot choose the moment of that inspiration, which comes in series, so to speak, and I cannot incorporate on a whim something extraneous in a verse, and for example, your phrase imposed itself spontaneously, but it wasn’t really me who decided. All this to explain to you that it’s forbidden and impossible for me to incorporate whatever I fancy… And nor can I erase or even correct one if the internal order is not in agreement with the operation. And to think that I wanted to write a work of a few pages! And you see where I’ve got to without even knowing whether I’ve finished! […]
If your eyes open fully, you shall be unhappy, and you shall become, like me, an object of scandal and reprobation for many.
I’ m reaching the end of my period of inspiration and entering that of disgust and of draining the cup right down to the dregs, and that worries me, and I ask myself why I have to suffer all this with the abandonment of my dear ones and the sadness and the discouragement, but I feel, beyond my reason, that afterwards there will be the entry into the light and into peace and triumph and joy, and that alone keeps me from throwing it all out of the window, book and family, to take a slave-labour job out of derision and out of despair. How do you expect me to even look at the masters of the quest? and how do you expect me to seek the light? and yet, it’s germinating somewhere!
17. The quality of «The Message Rediscovered»
It is the book written in the world for those who wish to escape from the fallen world, but it is a book written in exile by someone who has known and who has borne the same difficulties as any reader, so that anyone who reads it might be encouraged by the thought that he who wrote it has done so while undergoing the same difficulties, that is, without special support, without fortune, without recommendations, without platitudes either and without compromises, with everyday tasks and worries, with repeated obstacles and with the weariness and despair of all men who struggle down here. In sum, a book written by a true brother who has suffered all that is suffered by the common man. An equal, even an inferior, which is reassuring all the same, for it means that the thing is no longer inaccessible, but rather, so to speak, within reach of the most wretched of hands. That is why it is good and even excellent that people know that I get angry, that I swear and that I sometimes fight, and that if I am not in prison, it is by chance, as is also the case for the majority of honest folk; that I have been ill and desperate, ignored and rejected, etc., like the first and the last of lost men down here… and now, the time is coming when another work shall be written, but quite differently, that is, as praise to God the saviour and as the victory that saves from all fall, a book that shall be written in the sole light of life exempt from all darkness, for the saved and not anymore for all.
I hope that «The Message Rediscovered» will help some human beings to bear the burden of this exiled life; thus, I shall not have written in vain, nor spoken uselessly of my Lord. I see, alas, clearly, that is, too cruelly, that I have done nothing compared to all there is to do and how much all exiled humans suffer and despair, for death dwells in us, and that is the sole sin that means nothing else can be sorted out down here.
